I have to read a book over the summer for my English Honours class next year, and wanted some recommendations! The requirements are:

    ———————————————————————————–

Pick ONE book that focuses on:

Identity (Who am I? How do people discover themselves?)

    OR

Resilience (How do people overcome challenges?)

    Requirements:

    At least 200 pages

    High school appropriate

Something you will actually enjoy reading

    ———————————————————————————-

It can be ANY genre :D. Fiction or non-fiction.

I'd prefer something that's less than 400 pages, especially since I've been reading a series with longer books recently. So preferably in the 200s or lower 300s.

(Though if a suggestion seems really good, I'm 100% willing to read a longer book as long as I know I'll finish it over the summer)

Just in case it helps with suggestions, I have a high lexile so books with more complex vocabulary are totally fine!! I've actually been wanting to increase my lexile by reading more-complex books!

{{Educated by tara westover}} – an autobiography about a young girl growing up in a family that does not believe in mental health. Miraculously, she goes to college and her mental health crumbles and she has to pick herself up. Then, she has to put together the puzzle pieces of what happened to her, what is currently happening in her family, and dealing with being the black sheep of the family because her perspective has now changed from what she was taught.

{{ for brown girls with sharp edges and Tender Hearts by Prisca Dorcas Mojica RodrĂguez}} this book wasn’t for me so I had a hard time but I think that it might be with you are looking for even more than the other one. It is about a girl who has some sharp edges and she is an immigrant and I believe she gets to go to college. She has a different way of looking at things then everyone else
