I want to read a historical fiction book if you guys have any recommendations. I really enjoyed Sound of Waves by Yukio Mishima (May not be considered historical fiction but it’s set in the past). I liked how it had wholesome romance that was a major part of the story with intimate moments and wanted to know if you guys have any recommendations. I’m fine with any time settings but the World Wars isn’t my favorite. Also no affairs or infidelity at all.

The Book Thief hits those vibes perfectly – set in Nazi Germany but focuses more on the human connections than the war itself. Also check out The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, it’s got that intimate romance feel you’re looking for just set in old Hollywood 💀
For something more similar to Mishima’s style, maybe try some Isabel Allende – her stuff has that same kind of beautiful, slow-burn romantic elements mixed with historical settings
