I used to read a ton during middle and high school but once I went to college, I stopped. I recently started getting back into but I’m having trouble figuring out which books I actually like.
I love historical fiction, a little romance, and occasional suspense/ thriller. I read a lot of non-fiction also, but mainly outdoor experiences such as Night of the Grizzlies and Into Thin Air. I enjoy romance but most romance books make me cringe with the plots. I think I want something that isn’t quite romance centered, but has a good plot with romance mixed in.
My top favorite books/ series I’ve read so far are Lessons In Chemistry, Where the Crawdads Sing, the hunger games series, and the Joe Picket series. I’m looking for any good book recommendations in either of those 3 categories. A good plot with a slight hint of yearning or romance will absolutely grab my attention.

try the seven husbands of evelyn hugo if you haven’t already – it’s got that perfect mix of compelling plot with romance woven through without being the main focus. for historical fiction with some romantic elements, the nightingale is incredible and will probably hit all your boxes
if you want something with more of that outdoor adventure vibe like into thin air but with some relationship drama mixed in, maybe look into some survival thrillers where characters are forced together in intense situations
