I love a good superhero story, yet I struggle to find them.

Preferably not anything connected to DC or marvel, and with a morally upright protagonist. I also like stuff that explores the social impacts and celebrity culture in the world of the book, but that isn’t strictly necessary.

    Any suggestions?

Soon I Will Be Invincible by Austin Grossman or Hero by Perry Moore

      Kurt Busiek’s Astro City

    2. There is the superhero series by Brandon Sanderson called the Reconers. it’s a 4 book series that is a bit like thetv series The Boys It has a lot about the politics of supers and a group of normals ans a few supers, trying to overture the”evil” supers of the world.

For the pov of an evil super MC the series, The Dire Saga by Andrew Seiple is a fun take on the genre. Female MC a bit like Ironman who’s super power is her intelligence and mechanical abilities. The first book you don’t get the whole story of Dr Dire being evil, she starts the book waking up on an operating table not knowing who or what she is, and being intelligence chased by an unknown group.

By the end of the first book she understands more about herself and actively starts plotting against the “good” supers and most of humanity.
