I'm 25(F), this year I really got back into reading which I'm super happy about. I want to continue this streak I'm on. I'll list the books I've ready this year below and also the ones I did not finish or paused on. I love romance, fantasy and thriller particularly but am open to new genres. I've noticed I enjoy dialogue heavy books but that is not a dealbreaker. Would love to hear some suggestions and perhaps some of your favourites so far. Please do not recommend colleen hoover – I read some of her books back in high school and did not enjoy them. Please nothing set in high school.

    2026 books:

The silent patient: 3/5 – good first book to get me out of my slump. But after reading more, I think it was mid.

Sharp objects: 5/5 – do I need to say why?

Binding 13: 3.5/5 – Enjoyed the family drama and the chemistry between characters.

Keeping 13: 3/5 – Read this to complete the cliff hanger of the previous book.

Look closer: 5/5 – this book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Did not expect the plot twists at all.

Dear Debbie: 3.5/5 – It was an enjoyable read.

Stay Awake: 3.5/5 – I read this during a very busy period in my life so I took quite a few pauses between so the story fell a bit flat but I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more if I concentrated properly.

Winners Curse: 4/5 – I like the rivals to lovers storyline, it felt real and the chemistry was solid.

Behind Closed Doors: 3.5/5 – Esther always knew. Grace ignored so many red flags I found the FMC was made out to be a successful woman in the beginning and therefore I found her actions to not make sense. But the last two chapters felt like a reward.

    DNF/PAUSED:

Behind her eyes – Started the book but ended up watching the show instead – the twist was wtf but still enjoyable.

Hate me like you mean it – Are they meant to be adults? What a ridiculous plot, stopped reading the second she agreed to be his servant.

The housemaid – Wanted to finish reading it before my movie but wasn't able to and after I saw the movie didn't see the point in finishing it.

Alchemised – This is just a pause, it's a heavy read with lots of information and I feel like I need to build up to this book.

Sorry if this is too long.

    1. If Sharp Objects was 5/5 for you, please read **Dark Places** next 😭 Same messy, dark vibe and impossible to stop once it gets going. Also **None of This Is True** was such a binge for me – very ā€œjust one more chapterā€ energy.
