I saw a post about an upcoming movie 'King's Daughters' that is going to be a historical-folk-horror, and saw a comment that really made me think deeper into how terrifying that time period could have been. The winters, the endless forest, the animals screeching in the night sounding like humans, not knowing what's out there, ect. And earlier in the month, I read yesteryear (incredible) and there was some great touches on those.
I'd love a book with that background from the perspective of a woman – supernatural would be cool, but doesn't have to be.
