Hello! I'd like to get into reading. I've always pushed the hobby aside, mainly because I have aphantasia; I've never been able to have the "magical journey to another world" I've heard so much about. I'm not sure what I'd enjoy since I've never really gotten into it, but I can say that in other forms of entertainment, I gravitate toward deep character detail and development paired with some form of adventure. I've already been recommended The Count of Monte Cristo, but it feels pretty daunting for someone who hasn't built the skill yet.
Could yall please give me some recomendations to start.

I get the aphantasia thing – my brain doesn’t do pictures either but I still love getting lost in books. For character development with adventure, maybe try something like The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo? It’s got incredible character depth without being too heavy on world-building descriptions.
Another good starter is The Martian – it’s basically one guy’s internal monologue while he tries to survive on Mars, so you’re really in his head watching him problem-solve. Way less intimidating than Monte Cristo but still has that adventure element you’re looking for.
