I understand that Joan Dideon has a great reputation. I also understand that the aforementioned title is supposed to be excellent. However, is this a good starting point for Didion? Is she worth it in general?
I'm only interested because of the allusive title, and hardly know anything about her or said work of nonfiction. Thoughts?

yeah that one is perfect starting point actually – its collection of essays so you can dip in and out without commitment and her writing style really shines there
