I’m reading The Stand and noticing that King has characters of both The Judge and The Kid. They don’t really bear any resemblance to McCarthy’s characters (yet, I’m only to chapter 50 or so.)
I did a cursory Google search to see if there was any insight available without luck, but I’m curious if this is just King paying homage given the shared Wild West themes or if there’s more to it.

Given The Stand predates Blood Meridian its fairly unlikely it’s a homage from King.
Much more likely to be coincidence.
No connections they were published in different decades
The judge in *The Stand* you’re talking about is Judge Ferris? I think we can be pretty confidence he’s got nothing at all in common with Judge Holden.
