I want something that you keep thinking about after you’re done reading it. not necessarily sad or happy, just something that lingers. what do you recommend?
the metamorphosis by kafka absolutely wrecked my brain for weeks after reading it. there’s something about that whole transformation thing that just sits in your head and makes you question everything about existence and identity. short read too but it packs a serious punch.

Well, John Steinbeck is good for that. Take your pick. For me it’s East of Eden or Grapes of Wrath. They are slow but you can’t forget them. I feel like I’ve visited some of the places he wrote about. I can still see them and I know I’ve never been.
