I’m going through a real low point right now and I need distractions via books. The books don’t need to be happy, but they need to hook me so I can escape. Any genre is fine though I tend to read fantasy. Twists, turns, scandals, etc would all be welcome, but again, open to most things.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by VE Schwab

A River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke (it’s long and engaging)

    2. John Scalzi’s ***Starter Villain*** is the most entertaining book I’ve read recently. It’s a spoof of the early James Bond movies. A substitute teacher inherits his estranged uncle’s villainy which comes complete with a secret volcanic lair.
