Hey! So I am looking for an "older" romance book. By older, I mean anything before 2005.
I dislike basically 100% of books that come out these days, especially the romance novels that come out these days.
I feel authors 20+ years ago genuinely were just better at writing, but we can chalk that up to my personal preferance.
It can be spicy or not. I am not particular.
The only romance novel I have liked at this point is Time Travelers Wife because it was so real, outside of the time traveling part 😂
Any suggestions?

the time traveler’s wife is such a good example of what older romance used to be like – way more focus on the actual relationship development instead of just checking boxes
for stuff in that vein you might want to look into some of the classics from the 80s and 90s, they had this way of making the emotions feel so much more raw and genuine. the writing just hits different when authors weren’t trying to follow whatever formula is trending on social media
