Novel based in Palestine

Hi guys! It is a rather precise suggestion I’m looking for, but I’d like a novel that takes place in Palestine and that is not too much war-focused. Of course there can be war intertwined in the story, or not, but I’d like a book more focused on the characters rather than conflict. I’m open to suggestions of similar books from Palestine’s neighbouring countries too. Thanks!
