He loves adventure, survival, (like Robinson Crusoe) and fantasy, he wants longer chapter books. I know he’s read: Wings of Fire, The Hobbit, LOTR, Robinson Crusoe, The Sign of the Beaver, and some Hardy Boys books. With his birthday coming up I want to give him a couple books and need some good recommendations. Give me what you got!

My go to recommendations are: Percy Jackson (My kids LOVE the Lightening Thief series, Heroes of Olympus, and Trials of Apollo! Plus Magnus Chase a spinoff about Norse mythology), The Ranger’s Apprentice and the Brotherband series, and Eragon!
Watership Down
My Side of the Mountain
The Birchbark House books might be a bit short for him, but if he’s interested in how people live in the woods might be of interest

Sal and Gabi Break the Universe by Carlos Hernandez is a particular favorite, as are the Tristan Strong books by Kwame Mbalia.
Cog and Weird Kid by Greg Van Eekhout are also really good.
We Do Not Welcome Our 10-Year-Old Overlord by Garth Nix is another great one.
* Treasure Island
* Chronicles of Prydain
* The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear
Hatchet
Ranger’s Apprentice series. My son devoured these books when he was about that age.
I remember reading River God by Wilbur Smith when I was 10yo, and it was the greatest book ever at the time.
Lost in the Barrens (many really) by Mowat or Hatchet by Paulsen.
I always suggest this because it was very formative for me , but the edge chronicles, specifically the beyond the deepwoods trilogy , are phenomenal, also some absolutely amazing illustrations of characters and creatures . I could not recommend it more for a 10 yo boy .
Now if you want to really impress him but very possibly freak him out , Darren shans ‘darren shan’ series about a young kid becoming a vampire is great , it was my first intro to a bit of blood and guts in books and of course 11 yo me loved it
Wildwood by Colin Meloy (then you guys can see the movie together in the fall!)
The Explorer by Katherine Rundell
Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart
