Not sure if this counts but there are some sports fiction books that focus more on the competition side and personal struggles rather than romance stuff. Might have to dig around a bit since most figure skating books do lean heavy into teh romance angle unfortunately. What age range you looking for? YA tends to have more options that aren’t all about relationships.

Matt Christopher hockey books used to be my shit. Usually have some sort of mystery or conflict that’s going on off ice to intertwine with the actual hockey playing. Off the top of my head, the hockey machine and ice magic were good

You might like Beartown by Fredrik Backman even though it’s hockey instead of skating.
