Since true crime can be particularly cruel to the victims, I'm looking for a high-quality book that describes the case with respect for Sylvia. To me, situations when bloggers or authors create narratives where they are giddy with excitement when telling a story about someone's death are unforgivable.

the house of evil by john dean is probably your best bet – he actually covered the trial and knew some of the people involved so it comes from a place of genuine knowledge rather than sensationalism
avoid anything that markets itself as “shocking” or “twisted” because those are usually written by people who treat real victims like entertainment
