hello! i'm currently 17, and throughout my (short) life i haven't read much. recently i've had to read 3 books in the last year for my english class, and out of them i really enjoyed the glass castle. i don't read often but it was quite thrilling to have a book that i wanted to keep flipping to the next page of. now, i'm not too familiar with book genres in general, so i'm sure i'd like other genres, but as a start: what are some books similar to the general idea of the glass castle? i think in general i really like reading about realistic-fiction/non-fiction, but i've never read fantasy/sci-fi so i don't know if i'd like it
in general, i'm looking for really "safe" picks, as i'm not experienced with reading. thank you!

Educated by Tara Westover gave me the same exact feeling as The Glass Castle! It’s also a memoir but about overcoming a survivalist morman upbringing I. Order to go to college
