And now, the local book donation point has had 2 more that my husband has come home with, ‘The Twits’ and ‘The Witches’ although I really want to read ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ it’s on my to-read list, but after reading the glass elevator it’s piqued my interest more because it gives some insight into Wonka and his reactions to the actions of the characters that broke the rules. I’m aware theses are ‘kid’ books, but sometimes I just like to read something fun!

I remember reading an old copy of this book way back when; IIRC, the illustrations were by ~~Joseph Schillinger.~~ There’s a lot going on in it; they go to space, and one of Charlie’s grandparents ages backwards so far that she goes into a shadowy realm called Minusland. Wonka has to create some sort of antidote.
EDIT: Guy’s name was Joseph Schindelman. Schillinger was a composer.
I’ve been reading lots of Dahl books with my kids. I think great glass elevator sucks and hate when they pick that one personally, but the others are mostly good
The Witches was my favorite as a kid. Definitely creeped out little me!
*The Witches* was one of my favourites. Enjoy! None of the screen adaptations have quiye done it justice.
*Matilda* is also worth tracking down.
The pair were favorites of mine when I was a kid. Recently picked up Fantastic Mr Fox for my granddaughter and now I’m on a Dahl quest.
