so two of my favorite books/series have protagonists that have a type of tie to the land that is part of their powers/magic: Chalice by Robin McKinley and The Riddle-Master trilogy by Patricia A McKillip.
what i really liked about these books is the magic and lore systems that tie the leader(s) of the land to the land itself, where they can feel is something is wrong or something bad is happening. the health and well-being of the land is affected by whatever conflict or peace is currently at hand. i just really love the concept of leaders being deeply tied to their territories and having a built-in concern and care for their land.
hopefully i explained myself adequately! please let me know of any books that come to mind. and feel free to ask any clarifying questions. TIA!

Mercedes Lackey’s Mage Storms Trilogy. It’s part of a longer series, but you can read this standalone.
Any of Terry Pratchetts Witches books. Wyrd Sisters, or The Wee Free Men are my recomendations.
You might like The City We Became by NK Jemisin! It’s urban fantasy, and the way the magic system works is that when cities mature or come into their own, they sort of transform one or more of their residents into avatars that personify the city and its character. The avatars are tied to the health and wellbeing of the city in the way you describe!
