Hii everyone!! Growing up, pjo was one of my absolute favourite series, and I want to relive the high of staying up throughout the night discovering demigods and their quests to save the world. Unfortunately, I have reread the books too many times now, and the novelty has worn off.

So comes in my request… I'm looking for a fantasy new adult series that has demigods, adventures, some world saving, and found family! Basically, pjo but with grown characters and mature dialogue/themes. TIA!

    1. If you’re in for the long haul, I highly *highly* recommend *A Practical Guide to Evil*.

I think it might be my favourite book series ever.

Dude, I totally get this feeling! I was obsessed with PJ when I was younger and kept searching for that same energy in adult fantasy for ages 😂

You might really enjoy the Divine Might series – it has this whole modern mythology thing going where descendants of gods are living in today’s world but have to deal with ancient prophecies and world-ending threats. The characters are all in their twenties dealing with relationship drama AND trying not to let Ragnarok happen, which is honestly perfect mix of adult problems and epic fantasy.

Also check out some urban fantasy series that focus in pantheons – there’s quite a few that take the “gods are real and their kids have to save everything” concept but make it way more mature. The found family aspect usually develops really naturally when you have a bunch of supernatural misfits trying to prevent apocalypse together.

Fair warning though, once you find something good you’ll probably binge it in weekend like I did and then be back to square one looking for more! 💀

If you want mitological gods in modern world, then my first idea is “*American Gods”* by Neil Gaiman.
