Could you please tell me your favorite books for dealing with the grief of never having the family you had hoped to? Books told from a woman's perspective are much appreciated.
I have done my best to live a full life, but I always feel so alone in not having been able to have a family of my own, and I would love to read about this topic from someone who has tackled it in either a graceful or completely oblique way. Thank you.

There are two books that have heavily influenced my decision to not have kids.
1. We Need To Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver
2. With Teeth by Kristin Arnett.
They’re both about women with kids, so it doesn’t quite answer your question directly, but they also helped me realize I was not up for the task of what being a parent could mean.
i’m also very curious to see what other books people recommend bc i’ve always been worried about the regret of not having kids. while i’ve personally decided though that i’d rather regret not having kids than regret having one, i’m very intrigued to see other insights and perspectives from books.
