This sounds strange, but my favourite English professor/mentor who I have a really special bond with is leaving forever to a place where I'll never see her again, and I think a book about a similar situation would help me process that feeling of loss. I do not want a professor x student romance; that is not the dynamic I'm going for. This is just someone really important to me who supported my proudest moments when nobody else did, and has taught me a lot about life, who I will really miss. Does anyone have a recommendation for books that capture that vibe between two characters?

If you haven’t read it already, my first thought is Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom (but bring tissues!).
The Housekeeper and the Professor, by Yoko Ogawa.
