I suffer from endometriosis and every month I go through these strange feelings where I despise the body I was born with. Sometimes I wish I wasn't a woman just so I do not have to deal with the pain. I am wondering if anyone has recommendations for novels or even poetry that explore these sorts of themes

All’s Well by Mona Awad! It’s actually my favourite of her novels, even though Bunny gets a lot more recognition.

Mindfully Evie’s Within These Four Walls and the follow up Everything is Always Changing are a mix of poetry and prose and detail her journey with chronic illness, specifically endo, migraine and ME/CFS. I personally have found them a great comfort, especially when my health was at an all time low.

The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating by Elisabeth Tova Bailey is a memoir about the author’s interesting observations about a snail that she made while she was very ill and bed bound. I haven’t read it yet but it’s high on my tbr.

The Spare Man by Mary Robinette Kowal features a female main character who is constantly dealing with chronic pain. It’s a sci-fi murder mystery style novel if that’s your type of thing.
