I’m looking for fast paced science fiction book recommendations!
I loved the Skyward series by Brandon Sanderson. I finished the series in two weeks, which is unheard of for me since I’m usually a slow reader. It was fast paced, I loved the characters, and it was plausible yet still far off enough to be fictional.
I tried Project Hail Mary but I did not want to spend two pages reading about >!how Grace calculated the force of gravity as an introduction to his character/the book<! since that was just too much science and not enough fiction. I did not finish the book.
I tried Ender’s Game and finished the book but it was more of a “meh” for me.
I read The Fifth Season for a college course and it was just… eh. Not very fast paced. If I hadn’t been forced to finish it for class I wouldn’t have.
I haven’t found anything remotely close to the Skyward series. Outside of books I’m a fan of Star Trek and The Orville but not so much of Star Wars. Any book suggestions for me?

I mean, Dungeon Crawler Carl
Recursion and Dark Matter by Blake Crouch are very fast paced.
(If you can skim through the science bits… Project Hail Mary is a great book.)
