Looking for books that people genuinely became obsessed with this year.
Not just good writing or highly rated books, but books that became an actual experience for you. The kind where you stayed up late reading, searched Reddit discussions after finishing, saved quotes, or kept thinking about it days later.
I’ve had a couple books hit like that recently and now I’m trying to build a list of unforgettable reads instead of random TBR picks that I’ll forget next month.
What’s your favorite book this year that fully pulled you in emotionally or mentally? Open to any genre as long as it’s the kind of book people can’t stop recommending afterward.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Theory and Technique completely changed how I think about problem solving in my work as developer. Started reading just for the martial arts part but ended up applying the concepts to debugging and system architecture
The way it breaks down complex movements into simple principles made me realize I was overcomplicating everything in my code. Been recommending it to everyone even though most people think I’m weird for connecting BJJ to programming lol
read the psychology of money couple of weeks ago. Few lines felt close to home. While some advice was quite repetitive but could be applicable to life in general and not just investing money. I would definitely recommend!
Wellness by Nathan Hill.
Helps to be middle aged, not for everyone, but my favorite book of the year. Laugh out loud funny in parts.
