Hi all!
I just turned 30 and I would like some recommendation for what to read in this new chapter of life. I already feel like I am settling into myself a bit more, seeking connection, seeking whimsy, and caring less about what other’s think. I am still working on building more trust in myself and knowing when to let things go.
I am open to any genres but the things Im looking for are most likely in general fiction, magical realism, biography, and maybe some in poetry.

The things you mentioned about settling into this new chapter reminded me a little of All the Lovers in the Night by Mieko Kawakami! It’s a book I’m personally very fond of, and if you’re into that kind of quiet/a little lonely/saddish (but not hopeless)/introspective lit-fic and a narrator/mc in her mid-thirties going through some similar things you might enjoy it!
I remember the magic that happened when I turned 30!
I’d suggest When Women Were Dragons by Kelly Barnhill
