I won't lie, I'm doing this for two reasons. First, I want to be smart. I'm an idiot and I don't know much about anything except psychiatry and painting.
The second reason is that I want to relearn patience. 😃
If that helps, I'm interested in philosophy, history, novels (although I'm not sure what novels are good for), and anything similar.
The only thing I'm afraid of is big words. I tried starting with a book about religion that we had for a long time. I read the whole book and didn't understand a single sentence. I want something easy to read, please! ðŸ˜
That's all, thanks in advance. :]

My first ever book was Wuthering Heights and I found it incredibly hard to read at first, but then became easier as I progressed.
Start with something small, with a gripping story. “The Divine Farce” is really nice and you won’t learn much from it but it’s a fun gripping read, same with “A Short Stay In Hell”
Here are my favorite books of all time and if you like the plot summary of any of them, give them a try:
1. Forrest Gump
2. Gone Girl
3. Project Hail Mary
4. Night Lords
5. The Secret History
6. Looking For Alaska
7. A Moveable Feast
8. Helsreach
9. 11.22.63
10. The Virgin Suicides / MiddleSex

What does this mean
I would suggest a short story collection.
I really like the illustrated man by Ray Bradbury but there are plenty of collections out there.
Everything’s Eventual by Stephen King is another that I can vouch for.
Flowers for Algernon is a beautiful book, good pacing and maybe do to your job you can empathize with the character.
Don’t go for philosophy and heavy history books of you are training to read more, you’ll lose your patience halfway through.
The idea is find something you like and then search for books like it, there is more than enough for every taste.
