I kinda want to get into a big series and thought of these 2 but I dont know much about them.
All I know from Dune is that it one of the main sources of inspiration for Warhammer 40k which I love and the 2 new movies. I heard mixed stuff about the series and a lot of bad things about later entries/arcs
Mistborn I know nothing of apart from the name. Not sure if its a deep lore heavy book or just some YA boring stuff.
My reading list from 2023 to this day below. A lot of W40k. Some classic stuff. Some comedic stuff. Also just began Dungeon Crawler Carl and I am loving it.
Only book I did not write in english is a book my uncle wrote.
Only book I did not like is Portrait of the Artist.

I would bet you would love both universes.
They both build an amazing world that makes sense without needing to be grounded in reality which would hold them back.
Both worlds have amazingly strong characters with strong ideals, both for the good and evil ones. There is moral gray all over which I think you will be able to both enjoy and relate as life is not white and black most of the time.
Also they immerse you in new worlds in a way that you get to explore extreme cases, and your reading seems to show you like that 8 or 80 kind of situations and characters.
I love the Mistborn trilogy so I am very biased btw.
Dune is such a good book.
Very serious world building, makes horus series pale in comparison. There are a lot of detailed culture/political/economic aspects that are explained in huge detail. If you enjoy that kind of thing, then go for it. Its an older book so you should be able to find it for cheap. It’s a cult classic for good reason. Just keep in mind you will need to pay attention as there are a lot of characters and there is a lot going on, I read it many years ago and thought about it often afterwards.
Mistborn is good, be aware that it is YA and reads like YA. Also, the second two books are just ok.
Dune is absolutely incredible and seems more up your alley.
Yes. I’ll love it. But be aware that it’s AI. After, go read Stormlight
