Hi! I am a 13 yo female who thinks that fantasy/dystopian/mystery is my taste, but honestly my taste is all over the place (if including chinese books. I'm Bilingual) . Sometimes I love darker psychological stuff, sometimes sci-fi, sometimes fantasy. But please give me more books that include a amazing plot and unique characters.
Give me blood, killing, violence, love, schools, whatever. However, make sure its a book that can't be put down after picking it up (fast paced, good story plot) and do NOT make romance a complete full line in the story.
Have read lots of books including Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson (series trio), Last Hope School for Magical Delinquents, The Giver (As well as Gathering Blue and Messenger), Keeper of the Lost Cities, The Housemaid, Promised Neverland (manga) etc.
I read both chinese and english, so if you found any books that I might also like in another language, please THROW IT OVER (Chinese readers: 已看过斗罗大陆,民调局异闻录,哈利波特,十日终焉等)

Orphan X Books series.
Crime and Punishment – Fyodor Dostoevsky.
The Flowers of Evil – Charles Baudelaire.
Tomorrow, When the War Began + sequels by John Marsden
*A Deadly Education* by Naomi Novik (fantasy, magic school with violence)
YA Fantasy/Dystopia/SciFy? You are making my 2010’s inner child pleased!
The “Peculiar Children” series by Ransom Riggs (but really only the first 2-3 books)
I know you said no romance, but consider the “Twilight Saga” by Stephanie Meyers
“The Maze Runner” James Dashner (but really just the original trilogy)
“Divergent” Veronica Roth
“Maximum Ride” by James Patterson
Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld
Battle Royale by Koushun Takami
Ender’s Game. It’s one of those books that hits different at… right around your age, tbh.
Scythe by Neal Shusterman
Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series. Opinions differ about where you should start, but I’d recommend Guards, Guards.
