    hi,

I’m looking for suggestions for my son who likes books typically targeted towards girls – fairies, unicorns, cosy friendship stories – but wishes the characters were sometimes boys. (other than the goblins!)

looking for books for age 6-8ish. For me to read to him, so vocabulary not an issue but just nothing too scary or adult.

    tia! 🙂

      Zack Files by Dan Greenburg.
The Spiderwick Chronicles by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black.

    2. Pacey Packer Unicorn Tracker – still a girl main character, but she’s a tomboy, and the unicorns and mermaids are evil. One of the better kid stories I’ve read because it has all the favorite characters, but from a different perspective. (Thrilling, but not scary)

And Harry Potter, of course, although some think even the first is too scary at all that age
