I found myself enjoying this aspect of Project Hail Mary. I also really enjoyed the Netflix show Long Story Short, and I am watching This Is Us for the first time and I realise that all three of these pieces of media share this way of storytelling (if there's a name for this?)
Bonus if you're learning at the same time as the MC and I'm equally emotionally invested in both timelines.
I read The Great Believers and that kinda fills this brief but there's only one common character and I only ever enjoyed the Yancy timeline.

There are so many books like this! Is there a specific genre you love/hate?
But since you mentioned the great believers, “I have a few questions for you” by the same author is really good. She is definitely figuring out how the past explains things in real time throughout the book, even though she was there for the beginning as well.
