I have really enjoyed reading a lot recently and I have bought all of the popular BookTok Romantasy book recs and I would really like to know of some more underrated Romantasy stories that I might be missing out on. I don't want to see ACOTAR, Fourth Wing, The Cruel Prince, Once Upon a Broken Heart, Percy Jackson, etc. As much as I love those stories, I'm looking for stories that don't nearly get talked about enough. I love anything Romantasy but some of my favorites to help everyone get a better feel for what I like is Red Winter series by Annette Marie, Shadow of the Fox series by Julie Kagawa, The Poet Empress by Shen Tao.

I’m not really into that genre much but my roommate is obsessed with romantasy and she’s always talking about books that nobody seems to know. She mentioned this series about necromancers that was really dark but had good romance – can’t remember the exact name but it was something like “Bone” something. Also there was one set in India with mythology that she couldn’t put down for weeks, kept borrowing my phone charger because she was reading all night and draining her battery
You might want to check smaller publishers or indie authors too since BookTok tends to push same big names repeatedly. My roommate finds her best reads in author recommendation lists rather than main bestseller charts
They’re not underrated necessarily (I see them recommended here often), but certainly not on the same level of popularity as the ones you’ve listed: the Saint of Steel series by T. Kingfisher. I am not a big romantasy reader and absolutely *adore* this series – it’s got incredible worldbuilding, compelling and mature characters who are in their 30s and 40s
