I love post-apocalyptic/ dystopian fiction and I'm especially interested in books that have gross/ nauseating/ nasty moments or premises (ex: the description of maggot-infested zombies in Ling Ma's novel Severance). Anything from poetry to short stories to novels is of interest! TIA!

Kira Jane Buxton’s Hollow Kingdom is an apocolyptic novel where the main character is a talking crow named Shit Turd. Essentially all humans have been turned into zombies and the domesticated animals of Seattle have to fend for themselves. I forget specifically about the Gross Factor, but I think I remember there there being a few descriptive scenes of some pretty gross stuff. Definitely a comedy-adventure novel as well, not particularly heavy or gritty, but could be fun!
