I started this book and had moved it to my very rare DNF. It kept popping up in my suggestions to read, decided to give it another try. I am so glad that I did!
This is not a casual read. I think that was my problem the first time. The plot is intense and several times I had to reread portions.
It is an excellent story though. Fantastical but believable. Well worth the time.

Between two fires of one of the EXTREMELY rare modern books I actually enjoyed. I just finished it on Tuesday and really liked the ending. Though my biggest complaint is calling it horror when it’s just violent.
Its a good one! I recently finished via audiobook and really enjoyed the experience. Definitely had to break it up because it is grim.
If you enjoyed it and havent tried them – check out the First Law series. It has similar vibes but a touch more humor to it.
