My family is going through some pretty dark stuff right now involving my brother’s kid (one of 3) getting cancer. It got me thinking a lot about the role of uncles and the way we can, should, or shouldn’t show up in our adult siblings’ lives.
I feel as if I’ve only ever read avuncular POVs either from a fun gay uncle or a completely aloof & shitty one. Can anyone recommend books that are very much about unclehood? I am open to any genre, really; I’m just curious to get in someone else’s head for a bit.
