Exodus by Leon Uris is a magnificent story of the founding of Israel from the Jewish perspective. It almost reads like historical fiction and is riveting.
I will say that it’s lacking on the Palestinian perspective; for that I suggest The Way to the Spring by Ben Ehrenreich but I’m curious what others will suggest.
