I’m pretty up to date with authors like Grady Hendrix, John Langan, Robert Malfi, T Kingfisher and Silvia Moreno Garcia, but I still feel like I’m behind on modern horror. For me early King is unbeatable, so what modern horror novels do you feel go the distance with say Pet Sematary, It, The Dead Zone, The Stand and two of my favourite short stories The Jaunt and Mrs Todd’s Shortcut?

i’m not a big SK fan, but [**Revival**](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/20926278) was excellent. it has one of the most horrific endings of any book i’ve ever read which i absolutely loved.
