I am curious about Bildungsromans from various parts of the world. Very recently I have been acquainted with a few Norwegian coming-of-age novels that I enjoyed reading: *Out Stealing Horses* and *Echoland* by Per Patterson. I also remember having a wonderful experience reading the first half of Karl Ove Knausgård’s *A Death in the Family*, needless to say, I loved the entire book. These novels offered me a compelling insight into Norwegian culture and landscape (although Echoland is set in Denmark).
I have read some English ones as well.
I would like to know which coming-of-age books captivated you.
