Here’s a challenge for all you nerds. I’m looking for books of fiction that satisfy at least 5 of the following criteria.
1. Not originally written in English or but available in English translation.
2. Written more than 40 but less than 100 years ago.
3. At least 300 pages or 120,000 words long (any one will do).
4. Has an unusual moral or emotional stance or an eccentric worldview.
5. Is *not* SF/fantasy/horror (in the standard ‘genre’ sense of the terms.)
6. Is a brilliant work but not at all well-known (in your opinion).
Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
