I’m in my late 30s and facing a cancer diagnosis. I want to understand better the science of cancer, specifically breast cancer, but I’m not a scientist by training so it needs to cover the basics. Many books I see recommended are very out of date (Dr. Susan Love’s book) or have a religious angle (seeing it in the first chapter of {{Breasts: The Owner’s Manual by Kristi Funk}}). Looking for something current with little to no religion or spirituality.
Memoirs are also okay, though, again, I’m not much interested in one’s spiritual journey since I’m not religious myself and it just doesn’t appeal to me.
I read {{The Emperor of all Maladies}} when it came out but I will definitely revisit that one.
