One Second After. Make no mistake its not a horror genre. But it is terrifying all the same, because it is plausible and in today’s age it is almost expected. Imagine an EMP detonating in the atmosphere. All electronics, cars, planes, communications, everything goes dead. Food stops being delivered to your grocery store, your medication you or your family need to simply live each day like insulin no longer is in stock, gas pumps are shut off. Society begins to quickly crumble. 72 hours later people are willing to kill to take what is yours. Everyone has a different theory all while waiting for help to come but it never does. Modern society breaks down into barbarian clans that will be willing to resort to cannibalism to survive. Its a great, eye opening book about preparedness and survival. There were three more books made after it. I would highly recommend.
