Books like “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” (Stephen Chbosky) and “Speak” (Laurie Halse Anderson)

I feel like these two books are quite similar in a way and I really enjoyed both of them. They're both written from the perspective of a freshman in high school but that's not what I like about them. It's the way the two narrators see and experience the things and people around them and describe it all in their own way (one very matter of factly with some confusion and the other more sarcastic), while working through their own issues that I really enjoyed. So the book doesn't necessarily need to be about a kid in high school. It's more about the writing/narrating style.
