have you ever read never let me go by kazuo Ishiguro? like perks, it’s a coming-of-age story that is devastatingly sad (imo, anyway). not sure i’d say they have a lot in common outside of that, tho. i don’t want to say more, because the less you know about never let me go prior to reading, the better
