Hi everyone! My father in law recently had his cancer return. He’s in great, aside from the fact that he gets restless and frustrated when he can’t be as active as he’d like to be, and sometimes his head hurts too badly to watch TV.

The last time he was sick, I started to bring him books he could read in the hospital and later at home. We found out that he LOVES Brad Thor’s series, Jack Carr’s series, and Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp series. He will start a book at 5am and read the whole day, because it’s such an excellent distraction.

I’m hoping to find some more series for him to get invested in over the next few months as he’s facing surgeries and chemo. While Tom Clancy is of course already on my radar, I have to believe there are other out there as well.

    What do you suggest?

    Thanks in advance!

    1. Well, it’s a stand-alone book, but The Terror by Dan Simmons is fantastic. It’s historical horror fiction about the lost expedition trying to find the Northwest Passage.
