I've read a bunch of the Legion graphic novels, but I'd prefer NOVELS (bonus if there are audiobooks) that are about gods who mess with reality so you're never sure what's real.

I'm already reading Malazan, just to point that out, but those gods aren't quite active enough for what I'm looking for here.

It'd be really cool if there were any gods who were the protagonists, creating, destroying worlds, messing with stuff.

I also how in the Legion comics there are many, many monsters and personalities in his head, that each give a different power. Maybe there's something like that.

    Thanks!

    1. _Lords of Light_ takes place on a distant planet that was colonized by earthlings who lost contact with Earth shortly thereafter. The native population is a society of beings of pure thought who abandoned their mortal bodies long ago, and the first generation of colonists has rendered themselves effectively immortal and omnipotent using advanced technology, and style themselves after Hindu deities. Many people are no longer aware that these gods were — or maybe are– humans. The protagonist is one of that first generation, and the book opens with his resurrection.

_Star Maker_ by Olaf Stapledon is about the creation of the universe and all life in it. It’s wild — one of the weirder books I have read, especially given that it was written in 1937.
