Shes an advanced reader, but very innocent for her age too so I don’t want to get *too* adult books. She likes fantasy, a bit scary or gory she says. She reads from the young adult section in the library but hates romance or anything like that. She has requested some book series for Christmas. Any suggestions?

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series!
Margaret Rogerson’s Vespertine is wonderful. (I know it’s not a series.) Shannon Hale’s Book of a Thousand Days. The Princess Academy series (it is upper middle grade–not sure how old she is).

Skullduggery Pleasant is a good series
Not a series, but look at Ella Minnow Pea!
Tamora pierce wrote several upper middle grade and YA fantasy series. Howls moving castle. Cinder.
