I would love to read a high fantasy/historical fantasy with queer female main character(s). I have read all of Samantha Shannon’s books (love them) so that will not be helpful. Romance subplot would be nice but not necessary.

The Serpent Gates trilogy by AK Larkwood, again books 1 and 2 are out – the first one is *The Unspoken Name*
More of an ensemble trilogy but one of the main female characters is queer – the Winnowing Flame trilogy by Jen Williams, starts with *The Ninth Rain* (and this one’s actually complete!)
*The Once and Future Witches* by Alix E Harrow
*In the Vanisher’s Palace* by Aliette de Bodard
*A Master of Djinn* by P Djeli Clark – technically the first of a series but it’s the only one out so far…
