I’m not really a consistent reader, but after receiving “The Master and Margarita” by Mikhail Bulgakov from a friend this Christmas, I decided to try and get back into reading.
With this being said, I finished it today; man, my heart hurts. I miss it already, and wish I could read it for the first time once more. I’ve enjoyed everything about this book, and especially some particular things:
- Setting, since I’m not familiar with Moscow/Russia/Eastern Europe as a whole
- Characters, since I love a charming, but evil bastard like Woland
- Cards, circus-esque imagery
- “Ahead of its time”-ness
If anyone has any suggestions as to what I could possibly read following this wonderful novel, please let me know!! TYIA :3
