Also tell me why they impacted or left an impression on you.
I've only just been getting back into reading and have been on a streak of Cormac McCarthy and other westerns. In high school I really enjoyed The Sun Also Rises and read other books with modernist themes. I would like to expand my horizons and not just be a dude-bro-lit sort of reader.
Obviously this is an ugly oversimplification of my reading but I don't want to drone on too long. Thanks!

Of Mice and Men, A Fine Balance, The Book Thief, Watership Down are all books that made me cry.
*The Jakarta method* by Vincent Bevins
Death comes for the Archbishop by Willa Cather and Butchers Crossing by John Williams. Found both deeply affecting in different ways while both having ‘western’ vibes.
To kill a mocking bird. Lonesome Dove has been my most recent finish that has stuck with me
