Book for my father in law

As the title mentioned, I’m looking to get a book for my father in law. He only reads biographies/autobiographies of people he’s familiar with (JFK, athlete from a team he likes, celebrity from his childhood, etc.).

I think it would be interesting to try and get him into fiction now that he’s retired. It might be a fool’s errand, but I want to give it a try.

His main interests are sports and music (especially late 50s to through the 70s).

I would say that anything sci-fi/fantasy is an immediate no for him. Just trust me haha.
